Summer Exercise Routines and Morning Treats

Getting up early in the morning to exercise in the warm months is the most practical time of day.  Because the weather is so hot during the day, if you plan on exercising outside, morning is about the only time that you can do it and not get heat stroke.  If you aren't already in the habit of exercising in the morning, it is not too difficult to get into this good habit.  Why?  Exercising early in the morning will help you to burn more calories and fat quicker.   When you just wake up, your metabolism is still burning fat and calories from the night.  If you exercise before you eat breakfast, you can extend this burn, maximizing your workout.

Sure, it’s not every morning that I can pull myself out of bed, but when I do an exercise up a good sweat, I treat myself by fixing an iced coffee, enjoying it in my Lenox china Roselyn pattern teacup.  I have a recipe for a cold brew coffee which is really simple; you just put coffee grounds in cold water and let them sit overnight.  In the morning, you just have to add some low fat cream, sugar substitute and ice cubes.  You'd be surprised at how strong cold brew coffee can be and how delicious this treat is.

We all know that exercising is important, and it's something that we should do every day.  You don't have to go to a gym to work out; you can do pretty much everything without any special equipment.  One of the keys to making sure that you keep on a new exercise regimen is to give yourself treats.  Like I said, my treat is a cup of iced coffee that I make everyday after my workout.  Your treat doesn't have to be edible, it can be anything.  From seeing a movie on the weekend to spending an extra 20 minutes in the bath tub soaking every night.  Exercising is very important, and getting into a routine is one way to incorporate exercise into your life.
