Fresh, Fantastic Meals Without Using Boxes
I'll be honest, I like to cook. What I mean is that I really I like to cook when I have the time. I hate making these quick meals using boxes and cans of processed food. I don't like to use boxes or cans, because I think that it’s cheating, and it isn’t real cooking. I know that if I spend a couple extra minutes, I can make a delicious meal without using them. Plus, in three seasons of the year, I can get fresh vegetables and the herbs that I need to make a fantastic meal.
For example, if I want to make a stir fry, instead of using frozen vegetables, I'll chop up fresh ones. It only takes about five extra minutes to do that, so why wouldn't I? I'm also very weary of pre-packaged meals; sure I could make a whole meal in 15 minute, but is it going to taste very good? I find a lot of the box meals have too much salt in them, and leave me with a stomachache
So if you are in a hurry, what are some quick meals that you can make? Well, one of the easiest meals is a baked potato topped with some fresh vegetables that have been steamed. If you add a bit of butter and melted cheese on top, you have a nice, hot meal. Another really quick dinner is pizza. Sure, it takes a long time to bake, but after you get it all prepared, you just pop it in the oven and you can socialize with your family while it is baking.
Here's a hint: you can make any meal book a lot nicer just by the way that you serve it. You know the saying you shouldn't judge a book by its cover, but if the book cover doesn’t look nice, you're not going to read it. I put all of my meals on Lenox china springdale pattern, which I've owned for about five years now. You can make a healthy meal, without resorting to using boxes and cans to make it.
